Each year more than 1.3 million Australians will receive
some type of aged care, ranging from simple domestic support to full-time care
for people with intensive and specialised needs. Many people are able to access
their aged care services from their own home, but almost a quarter of a million
senior Australians rely on residential facilities to meet their aged care
requirements.
Almost every one of us will know someone who has lived in a residential
aged care facility, and many of us will come to rely on these services in the
future. It is in all of our interests to build a strong and vibrant residential
aged care sector that provides safety and the highest possible quality of life
to its residents.
The Aged Care Guild was formed by some of Australia’s leading
private residential aged care providers to promote the interests of the aged
care industry. We believe in respect and collaboration with our residents and
their families, with governments and with other voices in aged care.
